Dr Claire Mann, CEO of ChangeXtra from Nottinghamhas scooped a national award from Innovate UK, the UK’s Innovation Agency. The prestigiousaward will support her to grow her innovative businessidea which aims to ensure digital health is accessible to all and to use AI tohelp women self-care in peri-menopause.
Building on the success of Innovate UK’stargeted programmes, like Women in Innovation and Young Innovators, this latestfunding is designed to find and support the fresh innovation talent the UKneeds.
Dr Claire Mann is among the 233high-potential innovators who has been awarded a grant nationally.
Claire’s idea aims to understand diverseviews of the menopause to make sure her app, Pausetrack, is accessible to allwomen. ChangeXtra will work in partnership with key community organisationslocally, and nationally, such as Black Women in Menopause, This Girl Can, Womenof Wellbeing and Power, and Switch Up, to discuss menopause and maximiseoutreach.
The funding will enable ChangeXtra toexplore what people think about AI in digital health and to explore the ways AIcan be used in Pausetrack to help women to self-care.

In line with the UK’s growing appetitefor innovation, this new award programme was amongst the most highly engagedfunding competitions Innovate UK has ever delivered - with over 2,100entrepreneurs applying for funding and business mentorship. There is an urgentneed to transform the UK’s skills and talent pipeline, through inspiring andconnecting people to new opportunities and pathways into innovation. InnovateUK estimates that, to achieve the UK’s full economic potential, 400,000 moreinnovators need to be supported, from entrepreneurs to engineers.
Coinciding with the Awards announcement,Innovate UK has joined forces with over 150 partner organisations to launch itsfree and accessible No Limits digital platform, which makes it easy foraspiring innovators to discover new career paths, sharpen their skills andaccess opportunities to develop life-changing innovations and future-proof theUK economy.
